We are a refugee-led community organisation managed by a committee of experienced volunteers. We support other refugees and asylum seekers to integrate into new and unfamiliar surroundings and to overcome some of the difficulties they face. Read more about us and our history.
Our Mission
We aim to provide peace of mind for those fleeing war, destitution, violence, forced marriage and political persecution, and to build a safe community in the North East of England.
Activities
We work both alone and in partnership with existing groups and partners to deliver a range of social events and educational projects. As well as our weekly Advice drop-in we have range of other projects.
Volunteering
We encourage our members (who are not allowed to work) to get involved in volunteer activities so they can gain some knowledge, experience and skills. This develops confidence and improves general wellbeing.
